Hey, holy health fam!

Welcome back!

Can you believe we are in the year 2025?? Wild, right?

As a promise to myself, I am writing a brief blog post to share my heart with you.

As we step into the 14th day of this new year, I’ve decided to approach my goals with a new mindset—no more empty resolutions. Did you know that January 10th is known as "National Quitter's Day" because most people have not kept up with their new year's resolutions?

As a matter of fact, only 8% of respondents in a poll conducted by Forbes Health say they stayed consistent with their resolutions past the first week

.

This year is about consistency, discipline, and leaning on faith to guide my journey and I hope that it inspires you to remain steadfast and consistent in your personal journey.

One scripture that has encouraged me is 2 Timothy 1:7, reminding us that God has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. With Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we have everything we need to stay the course. And a writing in 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us to be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

One of my personal goals is to maintain my gym regimen and continue my weight loss journey. I also want to read more and create more community with people offline so joining social clubs is on my list. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that consistency, not perfection, is what brings results. Writing down my goals and creating a vision board for the third year in a row has been a powerful tool. Habakkuk 2:2-3 speaks of the importance of writing the vision and making it plain, and I’ve found this practice keeps me focused and motivated.

You may think it is a waste of time but the research shows differently. In a study conducted by Dr. Gail Matthews of Dominican U in Cali, the results showed that you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals just by writing them down. I love using science to prove what we already KNOW as believers! I challenge you to write down what you want to achieve each day, each week, and each month this year and you will start to see manifestation.

If you’ve struggled to stay consistent, remember that discipline is cultivated one step at a time. With faith, perseverance, and God’s guidance, all things are possible. Let’s commit to making this year not about resolutions but about lasting change.

Love you all! Let's get better together!

-Dr. Lique
